How It Started
Ty & Monique Mealey
Two trainers who got tired of what big box gyms were doing to their clients.

How it started.
We met in 2014 and connected over a shared love for the gym. Back then we came from different worlds — Ty had a degree in international business and economics and was working in corporate finance, Monique had a degree in Kinesiology and was working in corporate gyms. We both had personal training certifications and both genuinely loved helping people live healthier lives. What we didn't love was the inconsistency, and the complete lack of emphasis on actual health, inside big box gyms. So we built the thing we wished existed instead — and we've been building on it, one location and one service line at a time, for over a decade since.
We Met
Connected over a shared love for the gym — different careers, same frustration with how big box gyms treated people.
Tytin Fitness Was Born
About six months in, we realized we shared a vision: break the stereotype of the traditional gym and build something that actually prioritized client wellbeing and trainer success. We started with private clients out of a small apartment complex gym.
Our First Studio
Our client base grew enough that we left our corporate careers behind and moved into our own fitness studio. We finally got to hire certified trainers who were genuinely passionate about the work, and build the environment we'd been dreaming about — one where clients felt valued as individuals, not membership numbers.
Medical Services Joined The Mix
We opened a second location and added medical services for the first time, operating as Arizona Aesthetics & Wellness alongside Tytin Fitness — the first real step toward putting fitness and medical care under one roof.
Tytin Wellness Was Born
We opened our current Tempe location and combined Tytin Fitness and Arizona Aesthetics & Wellness into one brand: Tytin Wellness. The one-stop model we'd been building toward for years finally had one name, one team, and one building.
Meet The Founders
Two owners.
Same standard.
Ty Mealey
Degree in international business and economics, years in corporate finance before trading the desk for a training floor. Ty runs the business side of Tytin Wellness end to end — from the training programs to the clinical operations to the roof they both sit under.
Monique Mealey
Degree in Kinesiology, years coaching inside corporate gyms before deciding clients deserved better than a punch card and a treadmill. Monique leads the training floor, coaches Tytin's small-group programs, and builds every program with the same standard she wanted for herself as a client.
“Clients became like family to us. That's not a slogan — that's just what happens when you build the place you always wished existed.”
Ty & Monique Mealey, FoundersWhat Clients Say
Don't take our
word for it.
Shea came in nervous about working with a trainer for the first time — worried about feeling out of place. That fear disappeared the moment she started with Coach Mo and the team. She calls it “a total game-changer” in her fitness journey.
“Ty and Mo are the best — super friendly and super knowledgeable.” A simple line, but it's the same thing we hear over and over: it's the people, not just the programs.
Clients consistently point to Ty and Mo's hands-on involvement — going beyond the standard to make sure every goal actually gets hit. As one client put it, this place has “a culture you'll want to be a part of.”
